NEW Mineral Finds from the Owens Valley, California


This page describes new minerals and lapidary material
found in the Owens Valley of California and Western Nevada.


 You may wonder what the heck this stuff is - so here is the short and sweet of it.
These minerals are all from a special metamorphic environment known as a
Volcanic Island Arc Reef system that extends from the eastern Sierra Nevada
to the central part of Nevada. There are massive tactite and fossil
deposits scattered throughout this region.
